Treasurers Report: CD:$4512.79 Checking :$1453.38 V. Announcements: A. Ron Perry (fire Prevention Specialist) from San Angelo TFS Office visited - He discussed the serious fire situation across Texas. He is currently asking county judges to instate burn bans for their county. If anyone is interested, Ron will come out to your department and do a fire prevention plan for your area. Some of the fire prevention items on hand include Smokey Bear Fire Danger Signs ($63 - double sided). Ron also discussed ICS on fire calls and continuing with fire reporting (link is on the BCFFA website). If you need assistance with accessing the fire reports page/account setup, you can contact Meredith Carroll at the main College Station number. B. View VFD will be holding a chili lunch on Dec 11 from 12pm-2pm at the county barn. Cost is donation. C. Roscoe will be holding a brisket sale at the Sweetwater Wal-Mart all day, Dec 10. Cost is $5 (includes sandwich, chips and drink). Whole briskets will also be available for $25. D. The annual ECCA Wildbunch Bonanza will be held on Saturday Jan 28, 1/2 mile South of Coranado's Camp on East side of Hwy 277. E. Cisco/Upper Leon Fire School will be held on the 3rd Saturday of Feb 06. Live Burns included. F. Parker County and Stamford Fire Schools will be held in Mar 06. G. John B. announced the death of a Hico firefighter. The firefighter was responding to a mutual aid request in a water tender when the truck rolled. These types of accident ARE preventable! VI. Old Business A. Steve C. discussed training issues and the lack of interest in area fire schools. Discussed having more training nights instead of meetings, with more hands-on. Gary Y. stated training agenda needs to be more publisized for future meetings so that department members can make plans on attending. Also was discussed problems with communications when responding on mutual aids (what channel to operate on, ICS etc...). John B. stated some department's SOGs stipulate what to do on mutual aid calls. Don R. suggested possibly having a standardized SOG that each department can follow.
