Minutes from last meeting: No meeting for July IV. Treasurers Report: Not Available V. Announcements: A. Dyess: Dyess will be having their annual Fire Prevention Week Parade and Fire Muster October 3. Those interested in having a truck in the parade or participating in the Fire Muster, please contact Airman Cobb prior to Oct 1 at 696-2486. Don also announced Dyess was wanting to have an aircraft rescue class which would be open to all volunteers. The class will not happen unless they get a lot of positive feedback, so please contact them ASAP. Class will possibly include a live burns. B. Stamford: The Stamford Fire School will be held on a Saturday in March of 2005. Class will include live burns. C. The Haskel Area Fire School will be held Sat Sep 18. Class will also include live burns. D. Potosi: Potosi will be having a "landing zone" class along with Southwest Air Ambulance Thurs Sep 2 at 1930. E. Merkel: will be holding an Instructors School Aug 31, Sep 1 and Sep 2 at Heritage Hall in Merkel. Class times are 1800-2200. F. Trent: will be holding a cookoff 1&2 Oct (Fri&Sat). For rules and info, please contact Ray King. G. TFS - Nick: Applications are available for those departments wanting 100% tuition assistance for fire schools (lodging and meals not included). Get your apps in as soon as possible when applying for the schools (such as Haskel). - Aug 31 was last day to get paperwork turned in for next funding meeting (does not include schools). - TFS also has cost share assistance for workers comp. Funding is from 2% sales tax on fireworks. H. Albany: will be having a BBQ Sat Sep 4 from 1100-?. A shotgun will also be raffled. VI. Old Business A. John, View - Discussed 911 system for Taylor County. 911 funding rates to rise to $0.41. This also includes cell phones. In recent 911 meeting, a secondary answering point funding was approved. The secondary location will be used in the case of a natural disaster and the primary (LEC) answering point goes down. VII. New Business A. WELCOME TO NEW MEMBER STAMFORD FIRE DEPARTMENT B. Gary, Roscoe: discussed coming up with a list of each departments resources. Gary will e-mail out the form for all departments to fill out. Don Russom added that the TFS was working on a similar list to possibly be added to their web site for use by any Texas department. These list will come in handy when requesting specialized equipment and/or an activation of the BCFFA Response Plan. VIII. Adjourn Meeting
